What is Cursillo?

Cursillo is a ministry of the church. Its purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. The leadership may be exercised in work situations, in the family and social life, in leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Cursillo, does not mean power over others, but an influence on others; all of us need to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us.

What is the Goal of Cursillo?

The goal of Cursillo is the goal of the Church: to bring all to Christ. This is done when informed, trained leaders set out with the support of others having a similar commitment.

What does Cursillo do?

It helps to renew and deepen Christian commitment. Cursillo is one of many renewal ministries. Many people have said that Cursillo provides an important learning experience that causes many to feel like newly made Christians with a purpose and support.

C0-Ed 18 Cursillo Weekend

Proverbs 3:5-6

New King James Version

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [a]direct your paths.

It is an honor and a blessing to be selected as Rector for the English Coed Cursillo #18 weekend which starts on July 23 through the 26th. As Contemplate this undertaking, I am reminded of the scripture Matthew 9:37 where Jesus says to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful, but the labor is a few. When we are called; Sometimes we are taken back, maybe we say “we have to pray on it “, Sometimes we hesitate, because of fear or lack of confidence. But there are times when we have to:

 “Trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean onto our own understanding; but to acknowledge him so that he can direct our paths”.

This is the theme for the weekend. That is why I am blessed to be able to serve and to be a laborer with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

My name is Humphrey S Braaf. I am a parishioner at Saint Benedict Episcopal Church in Plantation, Florida. I attended Episcopal Men’s Cursillo # 85, where I sat at the table of Saint Marks. I have had the honor of serving on every Men’s Cursillo since 2009 and the joy of serving as Observing Rector on English CoEd Cursillo #16. I am aware of the amount of work that goes behind reaching out to fellow Brothers and sisters, who are seeking to have a better relationship with our Lord and Savior. I urge you all, to be fellow laborers with me, so that together, we can reach those who are seeking God ‘s love, guidance and wisdom during this CoEd Cursillo weekend.

Remember that we are not only the laborers, but we were and are also the Harvest.

Please contact your priest or your representative for guidance and helping build this ministry.

Thank you in anticipation for your assistance and helping the team make this a successful weekend in serving our Lord and Savior.
