Cursillo is a ministry of the church. Its purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. The leadership may be exercised in work situations, in the family and social life, in leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Cursillo, does not mean power over others, but an influence on others; all of us need to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us.
What is the Goal of Cursillo?
The goal of Cursillo is the goal of the Church: to bring all to Christ. This is done when informed, trained leaders set out with the support of others having a similar commitment.
What does Cursillo do?
It helps to renew and deepen Christian commitment. Cursillo is one of many renewal ministries. Many people have said that Cursillo provides an important learning experience that causes many to feel like newly made Christians with a purpose and support.
“ Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
De Colores! My name is Alicia Kelley. God has called me to be the next Rector of EWC #116 from May 29th – June 1st. My husband and I worship and serve at St. Benedict’s in Plantation. I attended EWC # 97, where I sat at the table of St. Anne. I feel truly blessed to be called to serve in this capacity and look forward to serving God and the pilgrims and to be a part of growing the servant community. Please start discussing the weekends in your church community and remember to speak to your priest about potential pilgrims before talking to them. There are many needs for the community to serve before and during the weekend, and I look forward to working with all of you. Please pray for the discernment of team members that God is calling us to serve and that as Cursillistas we will Let our light shine and, by our actions, glorify our Lord and Savior.
